Bauxite is a mixture of minerals that contain various concentrations of hydrated aluminum oxides as well asimpurities,which is also called calcined bauxite or sintered bauxite.Its main component is alumina,which is a hydrated alumina containing impurities and is a kind of earthy mineral.White or off-white,brown or light red due to iron.Density 3.45g/cm3,hardness 1-3,opaque,crisp.Extremely hard to melt. .Insoluble in water,soluble in sulfuric acid,sodium hydroxide solution.It is mainly used for aluminum smelting and refractories.

Classification Introduction:

1.Classified according to the type of bauxite raw materials:
   (1) raw bauxite, alumina original ore (natural sedimentary rock class).

   (2) the calcined bauxite, the raw bauxite after high temperature calcination (1200 ~ 1700 ºC)


2.Calssified according to the different calcining kiln where the bauxtie is divided into:
   (1)Shaft kiln bauxite
   (2)Rotary kiln bauxite
   (3)Round kiln bauxite

3.Calcined Bauxite according to different uses for division:
   (1) the refractory grade bauxite
   (2) the grinding grade alumina
   (3) the welding grade bauxite
